Viva.com Expands Tap to Pay on iPhone Service in France

Published about 1 year ago

Cloud-based neobank Viva.com has broadened its Tap to Pay on iPhone service in France, offering clients in the region the convenience of contactless payments via iPhone. This development allows French merchants and businesses to accept in-person contactless payments through Tap to Pay on iPhone and the Viva.com Terminal iOS app.

The service accepts all forms of contactless payments, including debit cards, contactless credit, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets, without requiring any additional hardware or payment terminal. The system also supports multiple card schemes, such as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, with Diners, Cartes Bancaires (CB), and Discover soon to be added.

To utilize Tap to Pay, merchants simply prompt clients to hold their contactless credit or debit card, Apple Watch, Apple Pay, or other digital wallet near the merchant’s iPhone to complete the transaction securely. The Viva.com Terminal app is designed to be fully compatible with any designated French bank account, offering customers benefits such as near-instant access to funds and transactions settled within 60 minutes.

Viva.com’s Development Strategy

Over the past months, Viva.com has announced several partnerships and launches, spanning different geographic areas worldwide. In October 2023, the company introduced Real-Time Settlement and Offline Payments solutions in Europe to streamline business operations. The Real-Time Settlement gives the Viva.com merchant community near-immediate access to funds, reducing transaction settlement times to just 60 minutes.

Initially available to businesses and companies with a Viva.com account, these features provide benefits for cash flow optimization and efficient, secure expense management. The Real-Time Settlement and Offline Payments are the latest additions to Viva.com’s suite of tools for merchants, including a business debit card for managing, monitoring, and automating corporate expenses while reducing transaction fees.

Also in October, Viva.com’s UK subsidiary, Vivawallet.com, received an E-Money Institution authorization from the Financial Conduct Authority. This licensure enables Vivawallet.com to expand its secure and regulated payment services in line with the UK regulatory framework. This authorization is a significant step for Viva.com as it continues its expansion strategy in the UK, offering a full range of products to UK businesses and merchants to optimize their payment experience using proprietary technology.
