Verifone Appoints New CEO, Mike Kohlsdorf

Published about 1 year ago

Verifone, a global leader in payment solutions, has announced the appointment of Mike Kohlsdorf as its new CEO. He will succeed Mike Pulli, who is leaving the organization after a five-year tenure.

A Shift in Leadership

Pulli’s leadership saw Verifone undergo a significant transformation. It evolved from being a provider of payment terminals and related legacy services into a contemporary FinTech platform. This platform now offers cloud-based payment software and services across 165 countries. The Verifone platform processes over 12 billion transactions, valued at over $500 billion, on physical and digital channels annually.

A New Chapter with Kohlsdorf

Kohlsdorf, who has been advising the Verifone team since 2018, brings over 30 years of experience in executive management roles in technology companies. He has been a senior Operating Partner with Francisco Partners since 2011, having served as CEO of eight portfolio companies under Francisco Partners.

Kohlsdorf expressed his enthusiasm about joining Verifone as CEO, stating that the company has a tremendous opportunity to continue expanding its end-to-end payment services to more merchants and consumers globally. He plans to make the company’s employees and customers the focus of their operations, confident in Verifone’s trajectory.

A Word from Francisco Partners

Peter Christodoulo, a Partner at Francisco Partners, appreciated Pulli’s leadership over the past five years. He welcomed Kohlsdorf and expressed his enthusiasm for Verifone’s future position in the broader payments space. Francisco Partners has been focused on transforming Verifone into a modern payment services platform since they acquired the company in 2018.
