In a move to bolster its leadership team, Thunes, the global B2B cross-border payments infrastructure firm, has appointed Chloé Mayenobe as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). The appointment comes at a significant time as Thunes continues its strategic expansion following a successful Series C fundraising in July 2023.

An Experienced Hand

Based in the Paris office, Mayenobe is a seasoned tech leader who brings a wealth of expertise in transforming and scaling payments firms into their next growth phase. Her career includes executive operational and transformational leadership roles. Notably, she served as COO of fintech unicorn Solaris Group and was Deputy CEO of Natixis Payments prior to that.

Moreover, Mayenobe spent over a decade at Ingenico Group, where she was appointed EVP of Governance and Risks before becoming the Managing Director of Europe for the retail division. In this role, she was responsible for over 1,500 employees and managed more than €400 million in revenue.

Thunes’ Strategic Expansion

In July 2023, Thunes closed a successful series C funding round. The $72 million raised, led by Marshall Wace and supported by Bessemer Venture Partners and 01Fintech, will aid Thunes in expanding its global money movement network. The company plans to deepen its reach in the Middle East, Africa, China, and Latin America, as well as explore new segments to serve a larger customer base.

Mayenobe expressed excitement about joining Thunes at this crucial stage. She aims to drive further innovation and global growth, making Thunes a key part of global cross-border money movement. Thunes CEO Peter De Caluwe expressed his confidence in Mayenobe’s ability to help Thunes reach new heights in making cross-border payments more accessible and efficient for all.
