Nuvei Opens New Operational Hub in China

Published about 1 year ago

Nuvei Corporation, a Canadian fintech company, has recently announced the opening of its latest operational hub in China. This move is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to expand its presence within the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Expanding Global Footprint

Philip Fayer, Chair and CEO of Nuvei, stated that the new office in China is a significant addition to the company’s global footprint. The expansion aims to support e-commerce businesses scaling internationally, who require payment partners with both global reach and local market expertise.

Nuvei already delivers cross-border payment services to several Chinese businesses expanding globally, including Geekbuying, Vakatrip, and Cupshe. The increased presence in the region will further enable businesses in APAC to enter new markets while building on Nuvei’s existing regional expertise.

Commitment to Growth in APAC

The establishment of an office in China is the latest move by Nuvei to support businesses accelerating their growth through payments in APAC. The company previously extended its global reach by securing local acquiring licenses in Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong in 2022.

Nuvei also offers 634 alternative payment methods (APMs) to businesses in APAC to connect with customers across the region.

Partnership with Mastercard

In another recent update, Nuvei announced a partnership with Mastercard to enable businesses to offer customers instant payouts to bank cards. The service, known as Mastercard Send™, facilitates rapid payments for various entities. While it’s currently available to Nuvei customers in Singapore, the service is set to extend to Australia and Hong Kong SAR later this year.
