myPOS, a UK-based payments company, now offers Tap to Pay on iPhone feature for businesses in the UK. The feature, available through the myPOS Glass app, enables merchants to accept contactless payments directly on their iPhones without any additional hardware.

Making Payments Simple and Accessible

The new offering aims to facilitate in-person payments by offering a fast, secure, and mobile experience. Rob Hay, CEO of myPOS Payments Ltd, highlights the role of this technology in helping even the smallest merchants grow their sales. He underscores the convenience of Tap to Pay on iPhone and myPOS Glass, allowing business owners to take payments from anywhere, whether in-store or on the move.

Positive Reception from Merchants

Business owners express enthusiasm for Tap to Pay on iPhone. Ahmed Saleh, owner of The Best Tasty Meal Corner, appreciates the flexibility and customer ease brought about by the new solution. Asif Parpia, a healthcare practitioner at Otowax Removal, is excited about accepting payments securely through his iPhone, eliminating the need for additional hardware.

How it Works

Merchants with iPhone XS or later can accept contactless payments by downloading the myPOS Glass app, setting up the sale, and presenting their iPhone to the customer. Shoppers can then make a payment by simply tapping a contactless payment method like Apple Pay, a digital wallet, or a contactless card.

New merchants can start using Tap to Pay on iPhone with myPOS Glass after opening a myPOS account and completing online verification. Moreover, they can take advantage of a free merchant account, a free business card, and immediate deposits of all accepted payments at no extra cost. The service requires iOS 15.5 or later, with no additional costs or separate devices needed.

Security of Transactions

All transactions are encrypted and secure, with business and customer payment data safeguarded by the same technology that keeps Apple Pay private. Therefore, when a payment is processed, card numbers are not stored on the device, the myPOS app, or Apple servers.

myPOS Glass Starter Plan

For those interested in trying the feature, the myPOS Glass Starter plan allows merchants to pay only as they get paid. It comes with no upfront commitment, no fixed costs, and the option to cancel at any time.
