Berlin-based startup Mondu, specializing in B2B buy now, pay later (BNPL) services, has gained approval and licensing from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The company has announced plans to immediately commence work with 16 British clients.

Expanding Services Across Europe

The UK debut follows Mondu’s expansion into the Netherlands and Austria. In addition to its core service, Mondu also offers MonduOnline B2B BNPL for e-commerce checkout and the recently launched MonduSell for multichannel sales. These services provide flexible payment options of 30, 45, 60, and 90 days. The company has also recently moved into the French market, albeit currently only for buyers.

New London Office and Managing Director

For its UK launch, Mondu has opened a London office and brought on Roger De’Ath, the former UK country manager for TrueLayer, as managing director. De’Ath commented on the growing demand for consumer-like experiences in B2B transactions and expressed confidence in Mondu’s ability to meet this need with solutions like its Digital Trade Account.

Initial UK Clients

Among the inaugural UK clients for Mondu are a variety of businesses from different sectors. These include technology provider PCSpecialist, electrical specialist Hughes Trade, business travel provider Clooper, lighting company Sera Technology, and sports nutrition company Raw Sport. Other customers operate in the fields of software, business letting, and restaurant supplies.
