Berlin-based business-to-business payments startup, Mondu, has received registration from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Following this, the company has begun working with its initial 16 clients in the UK. This development follows the opening of Mondu’s London office in March, and the subsequent UK hiring, which included the appointment of former TrueLayer UK country manager, Roger De’Ath, as UK managing director.

Mondu was launched in October 2021, with the aim of providing Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) services to merchants and marketplaces. The company has since seen swift expansion into the Netherlands, Austria, and the French market.

Mondu’s UK Expansion

De’Ath expressed excitement over the company’s FCA registration, stating that it primes Mondu for a launch across a range of UK businesses. According to De’Ath, the UK presents significant opportunities for B2B BNPL services.

Mondu seeks to offer a consumer-like experience in the B2B space. They provide BNPL services for e-commerce checkouts and the newly introduced MonduSell for multichannel sales. Both services provide flexible payment options across 30, 45, 60, and 90 days.

Mondu’s New Solutions and Initial UK Clients

Mondu’s new solutions, such as the Digital Trade Account, are designed to meet the growing demand for consumer-like experiences in B2B. These solutions empower businesses to offer their customers flexible purchase and payment options, leading to increased conversion rates, higher order values, and overall business growth.

Among Mondu’s first UK clients are technology provider PCSpecialist, electrical specialist Hughes Trade, business travel provider Clooper, lighting provider Sera Technology, and sports nutrition firm Raw Sport.
