Komainu Secures UK Crypto Registration

Digital asset custodian Komainu has obtained crypto registration from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The joint venture between Nomura, CoinShares, and Ledger, Komainu is now authorized to operate as a custodian wallet provider under the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information of the Payer) regulations 2017.

Offering Crypto-Custody Services in the UK

This registration equips Komainu to deliver crypto-custody services in the UK, including collateral management services. The firm was established in 2018 and is already regulated in Jersey, Singapore, Dubai, and Italy. Komainu has billions of dollars in assets under custody, with clients comprising asset managers, financial institutions, corporations, and government agencies.

Capitalizing on the Digital Asset Ecosystem

CEO of Komainu, Nicolas Bertrand, expressed optimism about the firm’s position to leverage the growing digital asset ecosystem in the UK and other principal jurisdictions. He affirmed the company’s commitment to its expansion plans.
