Waave and Merco Unite to Support POLi-Impacted Merchants

Published about 1 year ago

Open Banking payment technology leader, Waave, has announced a partnership with Merco to offer continued support to merchants affected by the closure of POLi by Australia Post.

Waave and Merco’s Seamless Solution

The partnership will enable merchants to substitute their existing POLi integration with Waave’s Pay by Bank fee-free debit option, thus eliminating the need for integrating with a different service. This will ensure a seamless transition and continuity for POLi-affected merchants.

Consumer-Friendly Alternative Payment Method

Waave’s Pay by Bank offers a secure and surcharge-free payment alternative to traditional cards. It requires no third party involvement or sharing of card details. This Open Banking powered payment method, accepted by all Australian banks, significantly reduces payment costs for merchants and provides increased consumer security through Waave’s Consumer Data Right accreditation.

Seamless Transition for POLi Users

Merchants already using POLi integration will only need to change the logo for the transition. Consumers who used POLi at participating merchants will gain automatic access to Pay by Bank, ensuring no interruption of service.

Ben Zyl, co-founder and CEO of Waave, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Merco, stating it offers a secure and seamless payment experience. He highlighted the mutual benefit for both merchants and consumers, with the latter gaining increased security under the ACCC’s Consumer Data Right.

Merco Limited’s Director, Jeff Skidmore, also conveyed his pleasure at partnering with Waave. He emphasized the partnership’s objective to provide POLi merchants in Australia with an easy pathway to offer their customers a convenient and secure alternative to POLi.
