Published about 1 year ago

Mastercard has announced new partnerships with Instacart and Peacock to enhance the value and convenience of their U.S. consumer credit card products. These new additions join a portfolio of benefits that already includes rideshare, shopping, and travel privileges.

Delivering More Value Where It Counts

With the cost of everyday essentials such as groceries and gas on the rise, Mastercard’s offerings have never been more vital. The company’s on-demand access to online shopping and grocery delivery with Instacart, and its first streaming service subscription with Peacock, are designed to provide added value in areas where consumers frequently spend.

Online grocery shopping continues to grow in popularity, and Mastercard is responding by offering access to Instacart’s membership program, Instacart+, along with monthly savings. Additionally, recognizing the popularity of digital streaming services, Mastercard aims to provide cost-effective access to Peacock’s premium streaming platform.

Seema Chibber, EVP of Credit, North America, Mastercard, emphasized that these additions were designed to meet everyday consumer needs and enhance their lifestyles.

New Benefits for Cardholders

Eligible World Mastercard and World Elite Mastercard cardholders who are new to the Instacart+ program will receive a two-month free trial and a $10 discount on their second eligible Instacart purchase each month. Moreover, they will also have access to perks such as no delivery fees on orders over a certain size, reduced service fees, and credit back on eligible Pickup orders.

On the entertainment side, eligible cardholders new to Peacock Premium will receive a $3 statement credit on their monthly streaming subscription. World Elite Mastercard cardholders will receive a $5 statement credit on the Peacock Premium+ subscription. They will also gain access to Priceless Experiences such as NBCUniversal’s iconic shows and studios, BravoCon, and more.

Instacart and Peacock on the New Partnership

Heather Rivera, Vice President of Strategy, Corporate Development, and Partnerships, Instacart, hailed the collaboration as a way to offer cardholders the ease and convenience of shopping with Instacart, along with member-only perks. Annie Luo, Executive Vice President, Global Partnerships and Strategic Development, Peacock, saw the partnership as a natural fit, highlighting the upcoming exclusive NFL games and anticipated movies and original series as part of the offering.

Credit card rewards are a decisive factor for 95% of American consumers when choosing a credit card. The new benefits from Instacart and Peacock add to the over $60bn in rewards and benefits that Mastercard provides to U.S. cardholders.

Supporting Small Businesses

Mastercard is also committed to supporting small businesses in the U.S., providing tailored benefits to enhance daily operations, protect against fraud and cyber-attacks, help digitization, and deliver significant savings. Mastercard’s U.S. Small Business Credit Cards, which provide over $10bn in rewards and benefits, are designed to support business protection, growth, and offer access to cashback and rewards that can be reinvested into businesses.
