Lightyear Launches Full Web Application with New Stock Screeners

Published 10 months ago

Investment platform, Lightyear, has unveiled the complete version of its web application featuring new stock screeners. This feature has been in high demand by clients on the platform.

Screeners Now Available to the Public

The screeners, a comprehensive directory of metrics and data for various instruments, is now accessible to the public. Lightyear users can now enjoy a fully functional web app, from registration to investing and managing portfolios. This means new customers do not need to download the mobile app to get started. The web app offers all the key features of the mobile version, including depositing cash and the recently launched limit and stop order types.

The Need for Bigger Screens

Over half of Lightyear’s customers (57%) have indicated that account and data access on a larger screen is a deciding factor in choosing a broker to invest with.

Evolution of the Web App

The company rolled out its web app in beta last year, enabling users to view and buy stocks. Since then, Lightyear has incorporated multiple features, refining the web platform experience based on feedback from 500 customers. These features include watchlists, tools for investment analysis such as analyst ratings, financials, earnings data, and news. Furthermore, users can download statements and review account transactions.

Stock Screeners and the Full Web Platform

The stock screeners launched alongside the full web platform, providing a comprehensive directory of stocks and funds with metrics and data. This allows investors, whether they are Lightyear customers or not, to make informed investment decisions. Screeners are divided into stocks and funds, allowing users to filter the entire Lightyear instrument universe based on specific criteria such as country, sector, P/E ratio, share price, and daily performance among others.

The directory of instruments is also fully accessible to the public. Non-Lightyear users can explore Lightyear’s instrument universe in full, using the same tools available to platform customers. This furthers the investment platform’s mission to make investing more accessible in Europe while promoting education and financial literacy.

Foundation for Future Iterations

Jani Kiilunen, Product Lead at Lightyear, emphasizes that this is just the beginning of future iterations of the web platform. The goal is to create tools that enable users to make better investment decisions, irrespective of whether they are Lightyear customers.
