Green Dot Appoints New Chief Technology Officer

Green Dot Corporation has announced the appointment of Dave Harden as the company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), reinforcing its commitment to becoming a more streamlined and efficient technology company.

Harden’s New Role

As CTO, Harden will oversee the ongoing development and delivery of Green Dot’s technology platforms. These platforms are crucial to supporting the company’s direct customers and a growing list of banking as a service (BaaS) partners. Harden has been a part of Green Dot’s executive team since February 2022, recently serving as SVP of Product Development. In this role, he managed the migration of Green Dot cards to a modern cloud-based card management platform.

Harden’s Proven Leadership

Dave Harden is regarded as a proven technology leader and strategist. George Gresham, Chief Executive Officer of Green Dot Corporation, expressed confidence in Harden’s ability to lead, praising his calm and confident leadership style and his ability to navigate through periods of change and growth.

Harden’s Previous Experience

Before joining Green Dot, Harden held the position of managing director and head of core banking technology transformation at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) from 2017 to 2022. He also held several technology leadership roles at Bridgewater Associates from 2011 to 2017.

Green Dot’s Transformation

Green Dot has recently completed its processor conversions, a significant initiative aimed at transforming the company into a more efficient, nimble, and powerful platform. The company has also announced the addition of PLS, Stockpile, and Credibly to its list of partners.

As the demand for digital banking and embedded finance continues, Green Dot aims to serve and enable more customers, both directly and through its valued partners. The appointment of Harden as CTO is seen as a crucial step in achieving this goal.
