Amsterdam's Carbon Equity Secures €6M in Series A Funding

Carbon Equity, the Amsterdam-based climate venture capital and private equity investment platform, has announced that it secured €6M in a Series A funding round. The round was spearheaded by BlackFin Capital Partners. This latest funding round brings Carbon Equity’s total to €9M.

The company plans to use the funds to launch highly curated investment products, expand throughout Europe, and introduce its ELTIF fund with minimum investments beginning at €25,000. This news follows the launch of its second fund - Climate Tech Portfolio Fund II, worth €75M, eight months ago.

Strong Growth and New Perspectives on Money

Carbon Equity has demonstrated robust growth, with assets under management (AUM) increasing by 300 per cent and its user base growing 100 per cent since its previous funding round in 2022. Jacqueline van den Ende, Co-founder and CEO of Carbon Equity, highlighted a generational shift in perspective on money. She noted that money is increasingly seen not just as a goal, but as a means to address global challenges and generate financial returns.

BlackFin Capital Partners: The Lead Investor

The lead investor for the funding round, BlackFin Capital Partners, is an independent private equity and venture capital firm that invests in European companies across financial services and technology. As of June 2023, it manages more than $3B in assets and has invested in approximately 20 fast-growing fintech and insurtech companies.
